THE POINT Communications is a Black-owned, woman-led communications consultancy dedicated to amplifying the efforts of minority-owned and minority-focused organizations. Founded on the principles of authenticity, integrity, and legacy-building, we specialize in crafting communication strategies that foster trust and drive meaningful engagement. Because, now more than ever, business is personal.
Whether you’re an activist disassembling barriers, a business scaling new heights, or an organization championing equity, THE POINT is your partner in navigating complexity to eradicate systemic racism.
At THE POINT Communications, we don’t just elevate voices—we shape legacies.
Fueled by an urgency to address the growing backlash against social justice reform, I founded THE POINT Communications. Its purpose: to support organizations whose work is results-driven vs. ‘check the box’ performative. I know the difference between the two, and so do your audiences. Whether you’re an activist disassembling barriers, a business scaling new heights, or an organization championing equity, I welcome the opportunity to work with you to drive substantive, meaningful change.
My passion for communication was ignited early. From the early days as a young reporter and TV news producer in New York to a 30-plus-year global corporate career, I’ve served in leadership roles with some of the world’s most iconic brands including Cadbury, Ketchum, Mastercard, and PepsiCo. My commitment to excellence has earned industry honors such as IABC’S Gold Quill Award, as well as internal company accolades.
Nurturing the next generation through formal and informal mentoring continues to be a personal priority. As a wife, mother, “bonus mom,” and Nana, I am deeply invested in this work.
I believe that it is through 1:1 experiences, working and playing together, that we each see the nuances of humanity in others—our commonalities, those things that make us sad and bring us joy. All our children deserve a just and equitable world.
Along with advocating for social justice, I find fulfillment in family time, concerts, and exploring cultures across the globe.
THE POINT’s mission is clear: Elevate the narrative for future generations.
History teaches us that who tells your story controls your narrative. The importance of this fact cannot be overstated. Rectifying deliberate disinformation and stereotypical misperceptions about Black communities requires intention and accountability.
Through purpose-driven communication, THE POINT envisions a world that lives up to America’s ideal of “liberty and justice for all.”
The 5-POINT Strategy
Objectives change, deadlines move, but one thing remains constant: a compelling message drives behavior. My 5-POINT communication strategy is designed to align with your vision of success.
Identify your objectives and the framework to achieve them.
The message matters. Own it.
“To go fast, go alone. To go far, go together.” -African proverb.
Be upfront about “the ask.” It will save you precious time and resources.
Experience and research are essential, but that “little inner voice” can be your most trusted barometer when assessing a situation.
Relationships Move Mountains
Through trust built on active listening, I work with you to analyze and prioritize your goals.
